Technical Program Manager, Data Center DesignLocation: Austin TX / San Francisco CA / New York NYSalary: $150,000 – $250,000 per year, plus equityType: Full-timeThe roleOne of the most active hyperscale data center developers in the US is hiring a Technical Program Manager to own project management and program infrastructure across a growing portfolio of data center design and delivery programmes. This role reports directly to the Director of Design and Engineering.This is not a coordination role. You will be building the systems, playbooks, and governance structures that allow a fast-moving engineering team to scale without losing quality or accountability. The company is targeting 10GW of deployed compute. The pace is real and the scope is large.If you have a background managing complex multi-discipline design programmes and you are a natural system builder, this is worth a conversation.What you'll be doingOwn end-to-end project management across a portfolio of concurrent data center design and solution delivery programmes from initiation through construction-ready handoffBuild and maintain integrated master schedules across architectural, structural, MEP, civil, technology, and specialty design disciplinesEstablish programme governance including milestone gates, design review cadences, change control protocols, and decision logsIdentify risks, interdependencies, and blockers ahead of the team and resolve them before they become issuesProduce portfolio-level status reporting for leadership covering schedule health, risk register, open decisions, and escalation flagsOwn the internal template programme for design and engineering delivery — project management playbooks, design review templates, consultant scopes, RFP frameworks, and meeting structuresBuild and maintain a document control and deliverable tracking system giving real-time visibility into every design packageChampion automation and digital workflows to eliminate manual effort and reduce administrative friction across the design lifecycleCoordinate design deliverable schedules across external consultants and track against programme milestonesManage consultant procurement and scoping: develop RFPs, evaluate proposals, support contract negotiations, and onboard design teamsRun design milestone reviews at Concept, SD, DD, and CD stagesManage RFI and design clarification processes during early construction phasesCoordinate between internal technical leads and external delivery teams to keep design scope, budget, and schedule alignedWhat we need from youDegree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline7 or more years managing complex technical projects with real design content — data center, oil and gas, industrial infrastructure, power, or large-scale construction all relevantDemonstrated experience coordinating multi-discipline design teams and managing external consultants through a full design lifecycleStrong organisational skills with a track record of building structure and driving clarity in fast-moving environmentsClear written and verbal communication — able to produce concise project documentation and executive-level status reportsProficiency with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalentComfortable in an owner/developer environment where roles are broad and initiative is expectedGood to haveData center, mission-critical, or hyperscale infrastructure development backgroundExperience in product manufacturing or technically complex production environmentsBIM and digital delivery platforms including Autodesk ACC, BIM 360, Revit, NavisworksPMP, PgMP, or equivalent certificationCapital project financial management including budgeting, cost reporting, and change order managementCompensation and benefits$150,000 – $250,000 per year DOE, plus equity (stock options)Health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement planGenerous PTOFor more information please contact:matthew.holden@clear-er.com
