CookUnder general direction, adheres to Department of Health guidelines and provides meal preparation for two community kitchens (Hornell and Bath, NY). Effectively supports ongoing and collaborative communication amongst all program staff and volunteers, following established agency communication protocols.Key responsibilities include:Prepares meals for the community soup kitchensDevelops nutritious menusResponsible for inventory of food and supplies to report to Operations DirectorResponsible for ordering or purchasing food for both kitchensCoordinates and directs volunteers that support the community kitchensFollows Department of Health regulations for food preparation, serving, and storage.Conducts daily temperature testing on the refrigerator and freezers; maintains tracking logMaintain cleanliness of both kitchens' workspace and appliancesReport any necessary repairs or issues to Operations DirectorConducts quality inspection prior to each meal service to ensure safety and adequate amount of savory food is servedParticipates in relevant Agency meetings and/or trainingsActively pursues development of professional competencies related to job role performance through reading, supervision, in-service training, and attendance at conferences and workshops.Awareness and active support of the Agency's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Plan, including, but not limited to, supporting the Agency's Core Competency initiatives of being Collaborative and Community Focused, Innovative and Entrepreneurial, and Culturally Competent and DiverseCompletes other duties as assigned.Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities.
