Server PositionThe Server is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents in the community's dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Gentle Touch standards. The Server is responsible for serving as a role model in providing dining service and assisting training care managers, maintaining proper dining room set up, assisting in special events, monitoring appropriate checklists in support of the dining area cleanliness and readiness standards and assisting in table top inventories maintenance. Responsible for handling all food and beverages in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service.Essential ResponsibilitiesGeneral Dining Service DutiesProvides support in the day to day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team membersProvides dining service training to new care managersHas knowledge of Daily and Always Available menu items and can provide general description to the residentsAssists residents with menu selections and responds to pertinent questions about menu itemsResponsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelinesResponds to the dining needs of the residentsAttends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activitiesFollows all local, state and federal policies regarding food handlingMaintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health standardsPerforms dining room checklist inspections for dining room cleanliness and readiness and makes necessary adjustments as appropriate to maintain quality standardsMaintains side work duties as assignedMaintains assigned tables and surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance and readinessPerforms and ensures dining room set-up and re-set of tables is in accordance with dining room proceduresSupports the dining room decorum and etiquette standardsPerforms and completes opening and closing checklist criteriaAssists in table top inventories maintenanceResident ServicesReviews, reads, notates and initializes the Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent informationReviews Resident Diet Book, confidential Diet Board/Indicator, Data Card or ChartMaintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all timesFood Safety and SanitationSafe food handling is practiced at all times to prevent an outbreak of food borne illnessCompletes daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignmentsMaintains all work areas in a healthful and safe conditionAssists in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization and supplies placementRisk Management and General SafetyPartners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulationsPractices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout proceduresTraining, and Contributing to Team SuccessActively participates as a member of a team and committed to working toward team goalsDemonstrates in daily interactions with othersCommitted to serving our residents and guestsContributes in the overall engagement programs and processes (customer and employee engagement) including participating in the employee engagement survey and engagement improvement planning workshopsAttends regular meetings; Town Hall, Department Team Meetings and others as directed by the Dining CoordinatorTraining/Online TrainingFulfills all required training within the required timeframe, including the completion of all training and study application appropriate for the position.Completes all training required by the state or other regulating authorities including ongoing training per regulationsCompletion of the following training may be required and/or certificates available per regulations and laws as applicable:ServeSafe CertificateQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
