Supply Chain Management (SCM) Intern

DescriptionThe SCM Intern will procure Indirect Materials and Services in accordance with the policies set by Global Supply Chain Management with assistance from the supporting Commodity Buyer. The SCM Intern is expected to work closely with all functional groups, in multiple countries/regions, to obtain maximum value for Inteva and to promote the Inteva values when dealing with our internal or external customers.The SCM Intern will be primarily responsible for the strategic sourcing of MET (Machinery, Equipment, and Tooling) and related services with support from the Commodity Buyer. Of equal importance are optimization of various internal processes related to the sourcing of MET, development of strategic supply base, and standardizing best practices across all Inteva Product Lines as it relates to MET and other commodities as assigned. In addition, this includes the optimization of internal document repositories and maintaining supplier financial health assessments.Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesAssist Commodity Buyer by procuring MET and other commodities as assigned by applying strategic sourcing principles at the best level of TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).Assist the Commodity Buyer to develop, execute, and enhance commodity strategies for MET and other Indirect Materials and Services as assigned. Continuously expand and enhance purchasing expertise and knowledge of global market trends.Actively engage in legal document negotiation for MET suppliers and utilize all repositories for accurate document retention. Ensure preferred supply base has active documentation in repository to support supplier alignment.Introduce, identify, and develop strategic sources for MET globally. Manage relationships with all suppliers, resolve supplier issues and optimize suppliers’ performance with assistance from the Commodity Buyer.Engage in a cost reduction project for the assigned commodities, report savings to the Corporate office as part of capstone project.Execute comprehensive RFQ process and support functional users in timely manner while minimizing the risk and maximizing the value for Inteva. Utilize strategic sourcing process to efficiently navigate RFQ process from release of SOR to PO issuance.Develop comprehensive walkthrough of activities and projects during internship and present to executive committee as capstone project.Support general business activities and requirements of the specific functional groups, carry out other duties as assigned.Req Number STU-24-00007Position RequirementsCurrently attending a college or university pursuing a degree in business, supply chain, or finance.Previous relevant internship experience in supply chain/procurement.Consistent follow-up skills, demonstrated project management abilities Problem solving and analytical skills.
