Senior Electrical Engineer

We have an opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position is in Sterling, VA. In this role, you will join a team of satellite system and subsystem engineers who contribute to the design, analysis, procurement, and testing of electrical satellite subsystems. Work is not isolated from any specific subsystem, and tasks may be associated with power generation & storage, C&DH backplanes, harness/wiring, RF, and the design and application of their associated test hardware. Activities may also include the evaluation of hardware against requirements addressing performance, environmental survivability, reliability, and mission assurance. Additionally, individuals may manage budgets, Con-Ops, predictive analyses (modelling), and survivability assessments through various mission phases. A typical day in this role includes a combination of performing assigned technical tasks, interacting with other engineering team members, and participating in customer meetings to support successful completion of the project. This is a senior engineer position, and often will be assigned as having full responsibility for managing all technical tasks on assigned program as well as managing other team members. Job Responsibilities: Tackle dynamic technical assignments across multiple electrical subsystems which require interaction with OpTech team members and multiple customer points of contact. Ability to review complex satellite technical designs and translate into a series of electrical models/budgets Analyze for mission risks or technical gaps, develop solutions alongside teams of multiple subsystem engineers and present findings to customers Create tools and techniques to optimize, analyze, and validate electrical subsystem performance. Develop and implement electrical designs which target mission success and that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or better) in Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering Discipline 10+ years of experience in Electrical Subsystem Engineering for satellite missions Experience in communicating with and leading small teams Preferred Qualifications Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills Experience in design/integration support of EE subsystems Experience with modelling tools (Matlab, VBA, Excel, STK, etc) Ready to grow from technically challenging projects US Citizenship REQUIRED Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $140,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: Sterling, VA 20164: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: Hybrid remote in Sterling, VA 20164
