Innovation and application expertise are the cornerstones of our identity and the fuel for our growth.The Assistant Controller will be responsible for providing high-level value to the Company through assisting the Controller in performing the following:Maintain cost accounting system, data integrity and consistencyReview labor and material variances in a forward-looking mannerAnalyze and interpret financial data and recommend changes to improve costs and systemsStudy, and collect data to determine costs of business activity for labor and conversion expenses. Calculate standard labor and conversion rates.Develop material cost rates and analyze inventory counts, pricing, and movementsAnalyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsProduce labor efficiency reportingBudgeting, variance reporting and account reconciliationUnderstand the assimilation of all financial data and prepare the financial reportsPrepare value add cost accounting and operating reports resulting in recommended changes to improve profitabilityIdentify, analyze, and interpret data trends or patternsPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDEPlanning, studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as labor and overheadDeveloping cost ratesAnalyzing costs and preparing value add reportsAnalyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costsDeveloping labor efficiency reporting and working closely with plant personal to report on achievement of productivity goalsAnalysis and reporting on factors affecting profitability of productsAnalyze financial statementsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s Degree in AccountingCPA/MBA preferredMinimum of 6 years of Financial Analysis and Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environmentStrong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detailMust have a strong Cost systems background, excellent analytical skillsData analysis skills with the ability to translate data into useful insights to help the Company make sound business decisionsExperience with PowerBIExperience with Microsoft Power Automate a plus but not requiredStrong Excel skillsExperience with Syteline ERP a plus but not a requirementExperience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standardsCOMPETENCIESCommunicationAttention to DetailSense of UrgencyPlanning and OrganizingSelf-ManagementAdaptability/FlexibilityContinuous LearningCustomer FocusInterpersonal SkillsComputer SkillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSPosition requires manual dexterity for operating standard office equipment. Must be able to operate video display terminal equipment and sit for long periods of time. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Good hearing is necessary to receive detailed information through oral communication. Visual acuity is needed to verify accuracy of written materials.
