And of course, in your ideas to improve lives while preserving our planet’s beauty for the generations to come.We are looking for:The Research and Innovation (R&I) teams within the Business Unit Novecare support the business in new growing opportunities by developing sustainable chemistries and processes that create value.This position is located in the Technology Center team of the Bristol Research & Innovation Centre, a multidisciplinary location which also hosts the application labs for the Syensqo Novecare business unit as well as the Syensqo Corporate R&I Process Safety. The R&I Techno team develops new surfactant and natural polymer molecules and provides support to process improvement for existing manufacturing processes.We count on you for:A student who is experienced in basic experiments and process engineering knowledge to support the Process Development projects for the Business Unit markets (Agro, Home and Personal Care, Coatings and Industrial Solutions).The main goal of this 1 year internship is to support the process team on the development of new technologies on our portfolio the definition and investigation of process improvement actions for our current technologies.Understand and respect all Bristol site safety rules.Proactively support the development of new process lab tools in different unit operations, in particular on :Continuous Reactions :Startup of a plug flow reactor and characterization with model reaction systemSupport on the upgrade of a stirred reactor into CSTR mode :Equipment design, modification and start-upHydrodynamics characterization for definition of equipment limitations and range of operating conditionsTest with model reactionsApplication to potential current technologiesTesting with potential reactions of interest for the Business Unit ( for data acquisition, process improvements and/or new process proposals)Liquid/Solid separationsFinalize the filtration media library including our current plants referencesSupport on the formalization of our internal methodologies for L/S separations studies (frontal separation, centrifugal sep with and w/o filter media, membranes)Process improvements studies for current plantsThermal separations - Spray Drying :Upgrade of current asset to solvent modeDevelopment of simple models for scale-up and standardization of data acquisition and study methodologiesFeasibility testing on some of our current productsDefinition of equipment limitations and potential applications to new chemistriesInvestigation of the potential interest of organic solvent nanofiltration or pervaporation processes for our technologiesPerform lab-scale experiments in order to obtain all necessary data for process developmentAnalyze the lab data acquired and efficiently communicate results internallyDevelop simple process models (material balance, kinetics) based on experimental data.Periodically summarize results and discuss conclusions with the project team and the Techno R&I team.You can count on us: Develop expertise in data analysis, specialized AC software and mass spectrometryGain experience with high-throughput laboratory automationDevelop expertise in synthetic biology experimental designWe provide comprehensive training in laboratory procedures and safety protocols, ensuring you're well-equipped to contribute to meaningful projects in sustainable materials development.You will bring:In pursuit of Bachelor or Master degree in Chemical Engineering and Technology or process engineeringTheoretical & practical knowledge on reaction kinetics, mixing, liquid/solid separation and solid characterization is preferredInterest in laboratory workProactivity, autonomy and open-mindednessGood written and oral communication skillsAbility to work on several projectsBe able to solve problemsYou will get:Competitive internship salary Hands-on experience in a global, innovative company.Mentorship from experienced professionals.Opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that support Syensqo’s mission.About UsSyensqo is a science company developing groundbreaking solutions that enhance the way we live, work, travel and play.
