Compensation & LocationLocation: Torrance, CAPay Range: $55.00 – $62.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)Schedule: Full-time, contract; long-term opportunityWork Type: 100% OnsiteBenefits: Health, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 401k, Continuing and on-demand education📍 Must be willing to work onsite in Torrance, CA (LA County)✅ Sponsorship is available for this role‼️ ONLY W2 – NO CORP to CORP – NO 3rd PartiesPosition OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and support scalable enterprise applications in a cloud-native environment.This role focuses on microservices architecture, AWS cloud development, and building high-performance backend systems that support digital transformation and customer-facing platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesBackend Development & Architecture• Design and develop scalable backend systems using Java and Spring Boot• Build microservices and event-driven architectures for enterprise applications• Apply best practices in object-oriented design, concurrency, and JVM performanceCloud & Serverless Development• Develop and deploy applications using AWS services (Lambda, SQS, SNS, S3, EC2, EventBridge, MSK)• Design and implement serverless architectures and cloud-native solutions• Ensure secure and efficient cloud deploymentsContainerization & DevOps• Work with containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline• Collaborate with DevOps teams for continuous integration and deliveryDatabase & Data Management• Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL, RDS) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)• Design and optimize data access and storage solutionsSecurity & Best Practices• Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, and OAuth2/JWT• Ensure compliance with enterprise security standardsCollaboration & Agile Delivery• Participate in Agile development processes and ceremonies• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software• Support production systems and troubleshoot issues as neededRequired Qualifications• 5–8+ years of professional software development experience• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot (Spring Data JPA, etc.)• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services• Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift)• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline)• Strong understanding of JVM internals, concurrency, and functional programming• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases• Strong understanding of Agile methodologiesPreferred Qualifications• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field• Experience with advanced AWS services (MSK, EventBridge, etc.)• Experience implementing cloud security best practices• 3+ years of Big 4 consulting experience• Stable work history within large enterprise organizations
