Duties will include obtaining personal and medical history, performing assessments, testing, providing education, vaccinations, treatment and epidemiological follow-up on reportable communicable diseases such as sexually transmitted infections and HIV in addition to providing case management, care coordination, treatment planning, insurance navigation and referrals to appropriate community resources to individuals receiving Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV.Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. No weekends, nights or Holidays. Will be required to work until 7pm on the 2nd and 4thThursday of each month.2026 Starting Wages: $32.61- A Step: Associate Degree in Nursing with 36 months or less experience as a Registered Nurse.$33.81 - B Step: Associate Degree in Nursing with 37 months to 60 months of experience as a Registered Nurse.$35.30- C Step: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 36 months or less of experience as a Registered Nurse; or Associate Degree in Nursing with 61 months or more of experience as a Registered Nurse.$36.46 - D Step: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with 37 months or more experience as a Registered NursMinimum QualificationsGraduated from a National League of Nursing-accredited nursing program.Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in testing, treating, and educating patients regarding sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV is preferred.HIV certification preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).Ability to interact professionally, respectfully, and effectively with clients, colleagues, and community members from a wide variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.Bilingual candidates preferred.Proven ability to provide culturally competent, client-centered care in compliance with HIPAA and public health best practices.Must possess a valid, unrestricted Michigan driver's license and have access to reliable transportation to provide services across various locations in Kent County.Additional InformationAll Kent County Health Department employees, regardless of position, are required to have their immunization status assessed and vaccinations brought up to date in accordance with the current CDC recommendations for health care professionals, with exceptions only as required by law.
