MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR
Job DescriptionLapeer Plating & Plastics, Inc., The Premier Manufacturer of Class A, High-Visibility Automotive Components, is seeking highly motivated, team players, possessing a continuous improvement mindset, to join our team as a MAINTENANACE COORDINATOREssential FunctionsThis position will take direction from plant management, maintenance planning software, and maintenance requests submitted by supervisors and other plant personnel. The individual will coordinate with the maintenance team to assign and schedule tasks accordingly, while prioritizing all maintenance requests.Additional responsibilities include managing stock and inventory in the maintenance crib, collaborating with purchasing to maintain inventory levels within set parameters, and performing upkeep of the maintenance organization software (Maintimizer).This role requires proficiency in computer skills, including familiarity with email and Excel. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with the ability to self-direct and work with minimal supervision.Duties And ResponsibilitiesEnsure compliance with all IATF16949 and 6S instructions. Oversee the safe working conditions of all maintenance crew members and enforce adherence to all safety guidelines. Follow directives from the Plant and Maintenance Manager, delegating tasks to maintenance personnel based on priority and importance. Assign work to maintenance personnel in a timely manner. Schedule work shifts required to complete necessary tasks, adhering to company policies and guidelines. Assist with tool and supply inventory, communicating needs to the purchasing department. Oversee preventative maintenance work orders and ensure timely execution of all scheduled tasks by their due dates. Maintain the Maintimizer and/or SharePoint systems, delegating preventative maintenance tasks daily. Manage, prioritize, and delegate maintenance requests. Assist the department manager with suggestions regarding projects, equipment repairs, alterations, etc., as requested. Report any potential unsafe conditions to the appropriate manager. Immediately stop any employee performing work in an unsafe manner or committing an unsafe act. Perform work cost-consciously while ensuring the reliability of equipment, machinery, and building. Responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping of the tool crib and supply area. Note any necessary crib shelf items and pass the information to the department manager or purchasing. Publish daily shift notes regarding work completed or upcoming projects. Perform other duties as directed by management. Minimum QualificationsStrong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and mathematical skills. Computer literacy. Knowledge of ERP systems, Maintimizer, Excel, and SharePoint is beneficial.
