Job Title: Direct Care Worker (Private Pay) Location: [Client's Home / Community Setting]Schedule: [Full-time / Part-time / Per diem]Position SummaryThe Direct Care Worker provides one-on-one, non-medical support to a private-pay client in their home or community. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring safety, promoting independence, and enhancing overall quality of life.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toiletingProvide mobility support, including transfers and ambulation assistancePrepare meals and assist with feeding if neededPerform light housekeeping (laundry, dishes, tidying living areas)Provide companionship and emotional supportAccompany client to appointments or community activities (if required)Monitor and report changes in the client's physical, emotional, or mental conditionMaintain a safe and clean environmentFollow care plans and client/family preferencesDocument services provided as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (required)Previous caregiving or direct care experience preferredExperience with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care is a plusAbility to follow directions and work independentlyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsReliable transportation (if transportation duties are required) Physical RequirementsAbility to lift, transfer, or assist clients (up to [X] lbs)Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods Preferred Certifications (not always required)CPR/First AidPCA, HHA, or CNA certification Work EnvironmentPrivate home settingMay involve exposure to pets, stairs, or varying home conditions
