In this role, you'll play a key part in driving project excellence, collaborating with industry leaders, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across complex initiatives.About PTAGAt PTAG, we help our clients plan, manage, and execute their most challenging projects with innovation, integrity, and collaboration.Our mission is to help our clients achieve successful delivery and efficient operation of their capital projects.Our vision is to support global leaders in the selection, planning, and execution of their major initiatives.Our values include:Safety: The safety of our employees, suppliers, and clients is always the top priority.Collaboration: We build true partnerships with clients and service providers.Leadership: We elevate project performance through the application of best practices.Accountability: We take responsibility for every aspect of our engagements.Client Satisfaction: We strive for 100% satisfaction on every project.Integrity: We believe in open and transparent communication at all levels.Role & ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will support the engineering execution and lifecycle management of high-voltage transmission line and substation integration projects.Project Leadership & DeliveryLead transmission and substation capital projects through initiation, planning, execution, commissioning, and close-outDefine and manage project scope, WBS structures, cost baselines, and schedule integrationOversee outage-driven project sequencing and energization planningMonitor and control performance using schedule and cost metrics (SPI, CPI, EVM)Identify, manage, and mitigate risks in high-visibility utility environmentsEnsure alignment between engineering deliverables, procurement timelines, and field execution Transmission & Utility ExecutionManage projects involving high-voltage transmission (115kV+), substation builds, expansions, or major upgradesCoordinate transmission line rebuilds, underground segments, reconductoring, and associated substation tie-insProvide oversight of construction, commissioning, and energization readinessEnsure compliance with utility standards, regulatory requirements, and interconnection processesSupport wildfire mitigation, grid resiliency, and modernization initiatives where applicable Stakeholder & Governance ManagementServe as primary interface between utility stakeholders, contractors, engineering teams, and regulatory bodiesLead project governance meetings, executive reporting, and performance reviewsEnsure adherence to IOU capital governance processes and reporting cadenceResolve cross-functional conflicts and remove execution barriersSupport audits, documentation controls, and regulatory reviews Safety, Quality & ComplianceChampion safety-first execution in live utility environmentsEnforce Quality, Environmental, and Health & Safety standardsEnsure permitting, compliance, and funding requirements are metMaintain disciplined change control processesQualifications / RequirementsTo succeed in this role, you bring:10+ years of experience managing high-voltage transmission and/or substation capital projectsDemonstrated experience within regulated Investor-Owned Utility (IOU) environmentsStrong experience managing outage-driven construction projectsExperience leading matrixed teams across engineering, construction, procurement, and project controlsSolid understanding of cost management, earned value, and capital forecastingAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects within complex capital portfoliosBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldStrong executive communication and stakeholder management capability Preferred QualificationsPMP certification or P.Eng designationExperience supporting wildfire mitigation, undergrounding, or grid modernization programsExperience managing data center interconnection or mission-critical infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with SAP, EcoSys, Primavera P6, or similar capital governance tools Mandatory Experience Alignment (Non-Negotiable)Candidates must demonstrate:Direct experience managing 115kV+ transmission or major substation projectsExperience operating within regulated IOU governance environmentsExposure to outage-based project sequencing and energization planning Candidates without high-voltage utility experience will not be considered.Location & Work ModelPrimary locations: San Jose, Oakland, Sacramento, and greater San Francisco Bay AreaWork schedule: Onsite / field-based, Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per weekRemote work: Not available at this stageSalary Range for Role $ 180,000 -
