Production Manager

Job Summary As a Production Manager, you will oversee the manufacturing process within our facility, ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met. You will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing staff, and optimizing production processes. Responsibilities - Supervise and lead a team of production workers to meet production goals - Develop and implement production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products - Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions - Collaborate with other departments to coordinate resources and meet production targets - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards - Train new employees on production procedures and safety protocols Experience - Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory role - Knowledge of assembly line operations and mechanical processes - Familiarity with power tools, hand tools, and machinery used in a manufacturing facility - Ability to operate a forklift is a plus - Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team to success Position Description Position Title: Production Manager Reporting Relationship: reports to Director of Operations Direct Reports: production shift lead, lead roaster, production associates, roasting associates Primary Functions The primary function of the Production Manager is to oversee the safe and efficient production of wholesale goods and to ensure the on-time delivery of said goods to wholesale and internal customers. Primary Responsibilities Leadership, Management, Accountability Hires and retains a diverse team of production and roasting associates, including drivers and shipping/receiving associates. Conducts training, performance reviews, and coaching as necessary. Writes the weekly schedule for production associates. Reviews and approves bi-weekly payroll for production and roasting associates. Responsible for ensuring that production and roasting associates perform their work in a safe, timely and efficient manner. Leads weekly production L-10 meetings with production and roasting teams. Production and Roasting Operations Responsible for ensuring customer orders are fulfilled in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Responsible for taking daily inventory of finished goods and WIP (work in progress) inventory, and writing the daily production schedule. Responsible for ensuring food and occupational safety standards are enforced within production and roasting operations; acts as the assistant food safety lead. Responsible for making suggestions for improving production and roasting operations. Responsible for coordinating cross-divisionally with procurement, sales, e-comm, and marketing to ensure that production and roasting operations meet demand. Responsible for ensuring product is manufactured to company quality standards. Is the lead driver; responsible for conducting regular driver safety meetings, maintaining DOT records, and providing timely feedback to drivers in the event of a safety incident Production Scorecard Accountability Responsible for ensuring the consistent execution of production and roasting scorecard metrics. Completes the EOS scorecard on a weekly basis. Communicates scorecard performance with production and roasting teams. Inventory and Cost Control Responsible for ensuring accurate inventory and cost control in the warehouse. Ensures inventory rotation (FIFO) and organization is maintained. Responsible for executing equipment PM schedules and coordinating equipment service calls as necessary Responsible for ensuring that order discrepancies are accurately notated on order forms before finalizing Qualifications High school diploma (advanced degree preferred) and 5+ years of progressive experience in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with leadership experience. Time management and organization skills are a must. Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general computer skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods of time, and work in hot and cold environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Experience with lean process implementation. Customer service skills. Reasonable and predictable attendance required, which may include overtime, evenings, and weekends as needed. Chauffeur’s license with an acceptable driving record and familiarity with DOT regulations (or willingness to obtain). Hi-lo certification (or willingness to obtain) HACCP, PCQI, and ServSafe certifications (or equivalent) (or willingness to obtain).
