About the Role
A globally recognized CNC machine tool manufacturer in Schaumburg, IL is looking for a skilled CNC Spindle Repair Technician to join their growing Spindle Rebuild and Service Support division. In this role you will be responsible for the full repair lifecycle of high-speed CNC spindles — from mechanical disassembly and inspection through precision machining, reassembly, and final testing. This is a hands-on, precision-focused role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and can work independently with minimal supervision.
This is a direct hire opportunity with a full benefits package and strong long-term growth potential — the company anticipates needing 2-3 technicians as they continue to expand.
What You'll Be Doing
Mechanically disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble, and test high-speed CNC spindles
Perform precision machining operations using manual lathe and grinder
Use micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, and dynamic balancing equipment throughout the repair process
Diagnose faults and execute corrective actions to restore spindles to spec
Read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
Maintain accurate repair documentation and communicate status with engineering and customer service teams
Occasional short-notice field service travel including overnight and weekend trips
What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years of CNC spindle repair, industrial maintenance, or precision mechanical work
Proficient with precision measuring tools — micrometers, dial indicators, torque wrenches, dynamic balancing equipment
Manual lathe and grinding experience
Ability to read blueprints, manuals, and diagrams
Willingness to travel on short notice including overnight and weekends
Strong documentation and computer skills
Detail-oriented, self-starter, quality-focused mindset
Nice to Have
Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Systems Engineering
CNC machine operation and basic G-code programming
Experience coordinating with engineering and customer service teams
