Overview HATCH for Hunger is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates as a social enterprise, focused on expanding access to high-quality protein across the charitable food system.We are seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the day-to-day execution of our communications efforts. This role is responsible for drafting materials, managing content across key channels, and supporting campaigns, events, and partnerships.The Communications Coordinator will work across social media, website content, and communications materials—including press releases and marketing collateral—and confirming all work is on-brand, complete, and delivered on time. This role will also support coordination with external agency partners, reviewing deliverables and ensuring all outputs are polished and aligned.The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong writing skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role for a Communications Coordinator, based in Carmel, IN, with flexibility for some remote work. In this role, you will support the implementation of strategic communication plans, collaborate with team members to craft engaging content, and ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels. Additionally, you will manage relationships with media contacts and stakeholders while contributing to the overall visibility and outreach efforts of the organization.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDraft and manage content across key communications channels, including but not limited to website content, social media, press releases, and marketing and partnership materialsDesign flyers, digital graphics, and promotional materials for programs and communications campaigns as neededManage day-to-day execution of social media channels, including scheduling, publishing, and monitoring engagementSupport the development and execution of communications plans tied to campaigns, events, and partnershipsSupport communications related to board engagement, including meeting materials, updates, and follow-up communicationsSupport development and fundraising communications, including donor correspondence, acknowledgments, and required documentationManage select projects, coordinating with partners, vendors, and agency to ensure projects and deliverables progress on-schedule, on-budget, and on-brandIdentify gaps or opportunities in content and proactively recommend improvementsTrack and report on performance metrics across communications channels as neededSupport the Director, Marketing and Executive Communications and CEO on additional communications priorities as neededRequirementsBachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or an equivalent combination of education and experience1-3 years of experience in marketing or communicationsStrong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone across channelsProficiency using Microsoft Office 365 applicationsProficiency using design software (Canva and/or Adobe Illustrator preferred)Background in content creation for web and social mediaOrganized and detail-oriented, with a strong ability to absorb and process information quicklyAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detailExceptional project management skillsAbility to work both independently and collaboratively across teamsPreferredExperience in a nonprofit, agriculture, food, or other mission-driven organizationFamiliarity with website content management systems (e.g., WordPress or similar)Experience working with or coordinating external agencies or vendorsFamiliarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar)Salary$50,000-60,000 annually, commensurate with experienceAbout HATCHHATCH for Hunger is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2014 that operates as a social enterprise, focused on expanding access to high-quality protein across the charitable food system.Protein is one of the most essential—and least accessible—nutrients for families relying on food banks.
