Farmhouse Support Staff
Job Summary: Responsible for helping with the daily tasks of caring for the children in the program. All staff are responsible for the safety of the children and their academic and social-emotional growth and development.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesAttend staff meetings and trainingsComply with all Michigan State Licensing Requirements at all times.Execute the typical childcare tasks such as diapering, moving furniture, cleaning, laundry, removing garbage, supervising in the play yard, covering breaks, subbing in classrooms, etc.Effectively collaborate and communicate with colleaguesMaintain “Brightwheel” in order to communicate with parents and provide updates and photos throughout the school dayMaintain positive, patient interactions with the children at all timesEducation/ExperienceRequired:Knowledge of child developmentAt least 2 years experience working with children in a professional settingAbility to think and problem-solve creatively and with a tremendous amount of patience and compassionFamiliarity with Michigan State Childcare Licensing requirementsPossess a profound respect for children and the natural environment, a positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and commitment to learningPossess experience and genuine appreciation for diversity of races, cultures, and developmental differences and a love for the outdoors (in all weather!) and the natural environmentEquipment Operation: N/APhysical RequirementsPushing quad strollerAbility to lift up to 40 pound childHiking, frequent walks, other outdoor activitiesBending, squatting, crawling, standing, kneeling, sitting on the floor with childrenTravel: N/AThis job description is not intended to cover every detail or every aspect of the job identified.
