The company has strong vertically integrated capabilities, allowing it to respond to ever-changing customer needs as well as create new markets.We currently have an immediate opening for the Photonics Engineer position to work in the nano-optics team to develop the next generation optical components. The primary job function for this position involves failure analysis of photonics chips with optical measurement and simulation. Qualifications & Requirements New graduate or experienced, preferably with a B.S. or more advanced degree in optics/photonics, physics, EE, materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, ME, nano-science, or inter-disciplinary fields.Direct experience with fiber-optics measurement and/or has experience working with optical bench-top equipment. Familiar with Python scripting and simulation tools, such as FDTD-Lumerical, COMSOL, transfer-matrix method, etc. Familiar with derivation of analytical expression and fitting with measurement data. Device fabrication experience in a clean room environment is a plus. Research experience in nano-technology, especially nano-structures for optical applications is a plus. Will need to work with process engineers to troubleshoot and improve the device performance. Comfortable with a fast-moving high-tech industrial environment.Hands on work in optical testing lab are required.
