The intern will gain hands-on marketing experience while contributing fresh ideas and perspectives to support the bank's brand, communications, and community engagement efforts.JOB TYPE:Full- time intern (10-12 weeks) from May-August, located in Harlan, Iowa.RequirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Applicants should be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's (B.A. or B.S.) or completed their Associate degree program, preferably in marketing, communications, business, graphic design, or a related field.Candidates should:Be familiar with Microsoft Office programsHave strong written and verbal communication skillsBe comfortable working independently and as part of a teamDemonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learnMaintain a positive and professional attitudeExperience with social media platforms, Canva, Adobe, or other design tools is helpful but not required.INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES:The Marketing Intern will gain experience in several key areas of marketing and communications, including:Assist with marketing campaigns, promotions, and product communicationsSupport social media content creation and schedulingHelp create marketing materials such as flyers, digital graphics, and advertisementsAssist with website updates and content developmentParticipate in community engagement and event marketingConduct research on marketing trends and competitor activitySupport internal communications and branding initiativesContribute creative ideas for marketing campaigns and customer engagementGain an understanding of the community banking industry and the role marketing plays in customer relationshipsWORK ENVIRONMENT:The intern will primarily work in a professional office setting at SCSB's headquarters in downtown Harlan, Iowa. Occasional travel may be required to other branch locations across Western Iowa or to nearby communities for marketing events or internship-related activities.
