The JobThe Transitional Assistance Department is recruiting for Employment Services Specialists. This position works directly with program customers in the County's CalWORKS or Behavioral Health programs assessing employability, providing services needed to obtain employment, monitoring individual program compliance using an automated case management system to maintain customer records, facilitating workshops and developing jobs.For more detailed information, please refer to Employment Services Specialist job description.Bilingual positions: Some positions require bilingual fluency in Spanish and receive additional compensation. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply and must indicate their bilingual skills on the application. Bilingual applicants will be invited to a reading, writing and translating test if they meet the minimum requirements for the position.Minimum RequirementsEducation: Thirty semester (45 quarter) units completed coursework in behavioral/social science, public/business administration or education. A list of completed coursework or legible copies of transcripts MUST be submitted with the application if the applicant does not possess a Bachelor's degree in one of the qualifying fields list above. ANDExperience: One year of experience in a CalWORKS Employment Services, WIA, ROP or Department of Labor to Work Grant Services program performing outreach, intake, interviewing and/or referral work for customers. Substitution: Applicants with at least 3 years of experience as an Employment Services Technician, or equivalent classification in a California Department of Social Services, may substitute their experience for a maximum of fifteen semester (23 quarter) units of the required education.
