About Spivey ServicesSpivey Services is a leading provider of traffic safety and sanitation solutions in Virginia, offering traffic control, equipment rentals, and portable sanitation services—including restroom/shower trailers, hand-wash stations, and toilet accessories.Position SummaryThe Sign Installation Technician is responsible for the safe, accurate installation, maintenance, and removal of traffic control signs and related devices. This role supports roadway and work zone safety by ensuring signage is properly placed, visible, and compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The technician works as part of a field crew to support construction, maintenance, and traffic control operations for Spivey Services.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, remove, and maintain temporary and permanent traffic control signs along roadways, construction zones, and work sites Load, transport, and unload signs, stands, cones, and other traffic control equipment Read and follow traffic control plans, layouts, and diagrams to ensure correct sign placement, spacing, and sequencing Safely operate company vehicles and basic equipment, including trucks, trailers, and post-driving equipmentPerform site inspections to confirm proper installation and identify potential safety hazards or deficienciesConduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on signage and equipment to ensure functionality and visibilityCoordinate and communicate effectively with supervisors, flaggers, and crew members to complete projects efficiently and safelyComply with all safety standards, including wearing PPE and following OSHA and DOT guidelines Respond to emergency or after-hours call-outs for urgent traffic control installations or adjustments, as requiredPerforms all other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED (preferred) Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required or preferred) Previous construction, traffic control, or outdoor labor experience is a plus Ability to read and interpret traffic control plans What We OfferWeekly Pay Every FridayPaid Training/ATSSA CertificationsNight Differential and Overtime OpportunitiesReferral BonusesPaid Holidays after 6 monthsPaid Time-Off (Vacation and Sick)Health, HSA, Dental, & Vision Insurance after 60 daysLife & AD&D, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability after 60 days401(k) with Company Match: Eligibility after 3 months; age 18+Spivey Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
