Job Overview
Irvine & Roberts Vineyards is seeking a dedicated and detail oriented Kitchen Assistant/Dishwasher to support our culinary program to deliver exceptional guest experiences at our estate winery. This role is essential to maintaining a clean, efficient, and organized kitchen that enables our culinary team to create high quality, locally inspired food pairings. A perfect fit for someone motivated in developing culinary skills, guided by a highly talented Chef in a supportive work environment.
Objectives
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and well‑organized kitchen that exceeds state and local health standards
Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to ensure consistent upkeep of all kitchen areas
Support safe food‑handling practices and follow all safety protocols
Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing food and supplies
Help maintain proper food pars by rotating stock, minimizing waste, and communicating shortages to the Chef
Wash, polish, and restock glassware, dishware, utensils, and small wares
Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently
Assist with basic food preparation, including chopping, portioning, assembling, and prepping ingredients for daily pairing boards and small plates
Support service by replenishing items, preparing simple components, and keeping workstations clean
Help set up and break down kitchen areas for daily service and winery events
Maintain high standards of presentation and quality when assisting with food items
Represent Irvine & Roberts Vineyards positively and professionally at all times
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and positive work environment for both kitchen and tasting room staff
Participate in winery events as scheduled, including Wine Club events
Requirements
Ability to follow direction, work efficiently, and maintain a clean and organized workspace
Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
Strong work ethic with the ability to stay focused in a fast‑paced environment
Reliability and punctuality
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and event days as scheduled
Food Handlers / OLCC
Experience
Previous experience in a kitchen, restaurant, catering, or hospitality environment preferred
Familiarity with dishwashing procedures, kitchen equipment, and basic food prep is highly desirable
Experience working as part of a team in a fast‑paced setting
Interest in food, wine, and hospitality is a plus
Job Type
Part‑time availability on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. Operating hours are11-6. Potential for Full-time hours in peak season.

$18 / hour + plus tips
