This is a high-responsibility role for an attorney who is ready to take ownership of a sophisticated caseload, work directly with clients, and contribute to a firm that has built lasting institutional relationships over four decades.You will work alongside experienced colleagues and have access to dedicated paralegal and legal assistant support. This is not a grind-and-bill role — it is a practice built on client relationships, strategic thinking, and quality work product.What You'll DoManage and litigate employment matters from inception through resolution, including DFEH/CRD and EEOC charges, PERB proceedings, wage and hour disputes, and employment-related civil litigationAdvise public entity and corporate clients on HR compliance, employment agreements, workplace policies, and employee relations issuesDraft and argue motions, conduct depositions, and represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedingsNegotiate settlements and counsel clients on risk assessment and litigation strategyServe as a trusted advisor on labor relations, employee benefits, and agency investigationsWhat We're Looking ForActive membership in the California State Bar in good standing — requiredMinimum seven (7) years of substantive litigation experience in labor and employment lawDemonstrated defense-side experience preferred; public entity or municipal experience a plusFamiliarity with California wage and hour law, FEHA, PERB, and related regulatory frameworksStrong written and oral advocacy skillsClient-facing presence and the ability to counsel non-lawyers with clarity and confidenceHigh integrity, self-direction, and the ability to manage a caseload with appropriate independenceWork ArrangementThis position is based in our downtown Los Angeles office.
