The Coronary Care Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for critically ill, post-operative, ventilator, post cardiac arrest, post heart cath, hemodynamic stabilization and other critically ill patients in the units. The Registered Nurse responds to codes and emergent situations as a team member within the hospital. The Registered Nurse participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the intensive care/coronary care setting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Handles multiple priorities, utilizing independent discretion/decision-making skillsPerforms admission assessment within the shift or in accordance with specific unit standardsPlan of care includes nursing diagnosis statement for each identified problemEvaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient's responses are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to assure overall quality of care deliveredMaintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to assure the integration of information for use by the health care team, in order to assure quality carePractices within legal boundaries of Nurse Practice Act and according to Hospital policy and proceduresProperly demonstrates the ability to care for a patient with hemodynamic monitoring including insertion, monitoring, interpretation, and care of the catheterProperly cares for the patient with continuous cardiac monitoring, ventilators, thrombolytic protocols, ICP monitoring, and pacemaker insertionsMonitors and interprets heart rhythmsPerforms all responsibilities/duties required by the Critical Care Division as defined in the scope of service to ensure that the unique nature of the client is addressed • Performs other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:RN License in state which the nurse will be practicingDemonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing, knowledge and skills2 years of cardiac care experience preferredACLS may be required per state/client contractComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we firmly believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our organization and we are happy to offer the following benefits:Competitive pay & weekly paychecksHealth, dental, vision, and life insurance401(k) savings planAwards and recognition programs*Benefit eligibility is dependent on employment status.About AmergisAmergis, formerly known as Maxim Healthcare Staffing, has served our clients and communities by connecting people to the work that matters since 1988.
