DescriptionSummary: We are searching for a half-time* Latine Outreach & Education Coordinator to conduct outreach and provide education to Clackamas County's Latine community to enhance awareness of mental health issues and resources, identify needs, develop volunteers for NAMI Clackamas Spanish Language programs, and enhance our mission of support, education and advocacy within the Latine community. This Coordinator will oversee NAMI Clackamas Spanish Language programs and volunteers for those programs. They will work closely with other members of the NAMI Clackamas staff team, volunteers, and clients to execute outreach and education initiatives that promote mental health across our community. This job requires excellent interpersonal and bilingual communication skills, strong organizational abilities to work with multiple clients and partners, and awareness of basic mental health concepts.* Note: We are also currently searching for a half-time Peer Support Specialist (www.namicc.org/employment) and welcome applicants for either one or both of these jobs.Hours/Compensation: This is currently a half time (20 hours per week) job with the possibility of increasing hours over time. Requires some evening and weekend work. The salary range for this half-time position is $18,000-$28,000 (full-time equivalent of $36,000-$56,000) per year, depending on experience. An IRA retirement fund matching contribution and a mobile phone reimbursement will also be provided.Required Qualifications:1. Committed to the mission and values of NAMI Clackamas.2. Must be an individual living with a mental illness and in recovery -- or a person who has a family member(s) with a mental health issue and has helped them navigate care.3. Must have lived experience as a Latine person and/or a demonstrated history of trusted engagement with Latine communities, including cultural humility, knowledge of community dynamics, and the ability to build authentic relationships.4. Spanish fluency is required and will be assessed during the hiring process (native/heritage fluency preferred). Must also have conversational/functional English sufficient to collaborate with staff. Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, families, community members, service providers, and co-workers both orally and in writing.5. Must be comfortable initiating pro-active outreach to promote NAMI Clackamas programs and services.6. Committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion; enjoys working with all types of people, especially individuals with mental health conditions.7. Ability to deliver mental health presentations/workshops in Spanish and comfortably manage group dialogue and participant questions. Training will be provided on presentation content and group facilitation approaches.8. Ability to maintain client confidentiality.9. Experience networking with a variety of organizations and community leaders within the local Latine community.2. Ability to manage grant deliverables and funder reporting requirements.3. Ability to work within a budget.4. Knowledge of social marketing tools (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, website management, email blasts, etc.).5. Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers.6. Experience empowering community members to share their stories publicly.7. Software: Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Apps.8. Relevant background: Customer service, social work, and/or non-profit work experience.Responsibilities:1. Manage and co-teach NAMI's Spanish-language programs (e.g., Compartiendo Esperanza and De Familia a Familia), including scheduling classes/presentations and coordinating logistics.2. Recruit, train, and support volunteers for Spanish-language classes, support groups, and presentations, in partnership with the Volunteer & Programs Manager.3. Co-facilitate weekly Conexión Peer Support Group and Family Book Club, including providing support and feedback for volunteer co-facilitators.4. Plan and carry out targeted outreach and networking to Clackamas County residents who prefer Spanish, building partnerships across public, private, and nonprofit sectors.5. Develop, adapt, and translate culturally responsive Spanish outreach materials that promote mental health education and connect community members to NAMI programs and resources.6. Increase engagement among Spanish-speaking community members (volunteers, program participants, and newsletter/email subscribers).7. Provide limited one-on-one support and advocacy for Spanish-speaking individuals and families seeking services and resources.8. Identify and recruit Latine leaders for board, volunteer, and other leadership roles as needed.9. Support fundraising efforts with the Development & Outreach Manager, particularly for Spanish-language programs.10. Write and translate Spanish content for newsletters, email blasts, and outreach communications.11. Recommend strategies to reduce barriers to mental health services for Latine community members and strengthen culturally responsive services.Program Administration:1. Serve as the primary internal and external point of contact for NAMI Clackamas Spanish-language programs and outreach.2. Track program participation and outcomes; maintain records and submit required reports/statistics to NAMI National and NAMI Clackamas.3. Provide ongoing volunteer support (including basic tech help and periodic site visits) to promote quality programming and volunteer retention.Other Responsibilities:1. Build and maintain effective working relationships with NAMI Clackamas staff, board members, volunteers, clients, and community partners.2. Assist in meeting day-to-day office needs as needed including answering phones, addressing client inquiries, and forwarding them to the appropriate staff person.3.
