Job Title: Senior Civil Structural Architectural (CSA) EngineerLocation: Charleston, WVPosition Type: Contract-to-HireOverviewWe are seeking a Senior Civil Structural Architectural (CSA) Engineer to provide high-level technical leadership and oversight for complex industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a highly visible, client-facing role responsible for coordinating with clients and multi-office engineering teams to ensure safe, high-quality, and commercially successful project delivery across the full lifecycle.This opportunity is ideal for an experienced CSA leader who brings strong structural expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to guide teams through complex engineering challenges while maintaining a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Project ExecutionProvide senior-level technical leadership across CSA scopeEnsure all engineering deliverables meet client and regulatory requirementsDevelop and review equipment specifications, material requisitions, and data sheetsLead and support:Technical bid evaluations and clarificationsVendor data reviewsCertification activitiesReview and approve work completed by engineers, designers, and specialistsContribute to cost estimates and technical proposalsSupport overall project execution strategiesClient & Stakeholder CoordinationServe as the primary CSA interface with clients and project teamsLead technical coordination and facilitate resolution of complex issuesBuild and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholdersParticipate in discussions involving complex technical decisionsMentor junior engineers and team membersSite Support & ConstructabilityParticipate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviewsEnsure findings are incorporated into engineering and designCollaborate with field teams to resolve construction and execution challengesSupport development of plans and documentation for:ConstructionTesting and commissioningOperations and maintenanceProject handoverProvide on-site support during construction and commissioning as neededLeadership & Team DevelopmentLead CSA teams, coordinate workloads, and track progressEnsure deliverables are completed on time and within budgetMentor and develop engineering staffSupport performance management and foster a high-performing team environmentDecision Making & AutonomyRecommend project execution strategies and technical solutionsCollaborate with leadership on design alternatives and risk mitigationOperate within project budgets and schedulesEscalate and seek approvals for deviations when requiredSystems & ToolsUtilize Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)Work within document management and engineering systemsMaintain awareness of CSA tools and multidisciplinary engineering environmentsExperience with Access or Visio is a plusHealth, Safety & SustainabilityChampion strong health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performancePromote safe and sustainable engineering practicesDemonstrate leadership in workplace safety and well-being initiativesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural Engineering, or related fieldActive Professional Engineer (PE) license (as required)10+ years of CSA engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership roleStrong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practicesProven experience leading teams and delivering complex engineering projectsExperience with project estimating and proposal developmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with risk management and quality management processesExposure to procurement, construction, and field engineeringStrong budgeting and cost control experienceFormal leadership or project management trainingAspen Technical StaffingCELEBRATING 25 YEARS~2001-2026~We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
