Industrial Controls / PLC ProgrammerJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls / PLC Technician to install, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, modify, calibrate, and program complex automated control systems supporting steel production. Key ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot and maintain PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, control panels, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.Install, modify, test, calibrate, and program automated equipment and control systems.Diagnose electrical and controls issues using multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic equipment.Make online/offline PLC and HMI programming changes and assist with controls upgrades.Read and update electrical schematics and drawings; AutoCAD experience preferred.Maintain industrial control networks, computers, and related equipment.Respond to production equipment breakdowns and develop long-term solutions to recurring problems.Work closely with maintenance, electrical, production, engineering, vendors, and service technicians on equipment installations and upgrades.Utilize CMMS for work orders, purchase orders, and preventive maintenance programs.Apply knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluidic systems.Follow all safety and environmental policies and support required training and compliance. QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED and verifiable technical training.Strong PLC, electrical controls, instrumentation, and industrial automation experience.Ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and read electrical schematics.Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Manufacturing or steel industry experience preferred.
