Estimator

Role, Function & Organization  The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various projects. This role involves reviewing specifications and drawings, performing quantity take-offs, and collaborating with project teams, vendors, and management to develop detailed bids. The Estimator supports project planning, budgeting, and proposal efforts while maintaining up-to-date cost data and ensuring timely, high-quality submissions.At PPC Partners we believe in the Power to Serve along with the Pursuit of Excellence.  As such the following values guide our behaviors: A Servant's Heart -- Focus on the Needs of Others, Wisdom -- Insightful, Integrity -- Honesty and Trustworthy, Courage -- Decisive and Confident in Others, Humility -- Modest and Respectful, Passion -- Unfailing DedicationEstimatingEssential Duties and Responsibilities  Review proposal specifications, drawings, and customer standards to determine the full scope of work and estimating requirementsPrepare disciplined estimates by calculating complete take-off of scope of workPrepare estimate breakdowns; provide information to Project ManagerCreate and update estimates using estimating/project management softwareSubmit bids and proposals on projects estimated after approvalCost & Data ManagementMaintain and update cost databases and estimating systems with current supplier pricing, labor rates, and unit valuesCollect and analyze supplier data to ensure accurate and competitive bid preparationRecommend and implement improvements to estimating tools and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracyProject Coordination & DocumentationMaintain organized, up-to-date project files and drawings to support accuracy throughout the estimating processTurn over finalized estimates and supporting documentation to managers and leadership as requiredCoordinate with vendors to ensure project specifications and pricing align with project requirementsComplete additional assignments as directed to support team and organizational goalsSafety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination: Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task. Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention. Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company.  Support goal of achieving zero accidents. Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed. Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.Qualifications And Requirements High School Diploma (or equivalent) requiredHigher education OR equivalent experience preferredExperience within the construction (specifically electrical construction) industry preferredAbility to read and understand various construction documentsExperience, Skill And AbilitiesProvide knowledge, skills and availabilities needed to perform the jobs (i.e. language, software applications, etc.)   Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiableProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams)Strong self-motivation, work ethic, and drive for career growthStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with all levels of the company and customersPhysical Requirements Office environment, requiring sitting and standing and extended amounts of time using a computer/keyboard at a single workstation.Pieper Electric is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
