Project Accountant Assistant

Position OverviewAmeritech Contracting is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Project Accountant Assistant to support financial operations while ensuring adherence to regulatory, contractual, and internal compliance standards. This role plays a key part in managing subcontractor and certified payroll compliance within the construction industry.Assist company with certified payroll compliance in accordance with federal and state requirementsUtilize or support systems such as LCP Tracker for certified payroll reporting (experience preferred)Communicate with subcontractors regarding certified payroll submissions and other compliance mattersTrack and follow up on expiring subcontractor certificates of insurance (COIs)Maintain subcontractor compliance documentation including W-9s, COIs, and lien waiversEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the construction industrySupport OSHA and safety-related compliance reporting in coordination with operationsIdentify and implement improvements to accounting and compliance workflowsMaintain organized digital and physical filing systems for compliance documentationGenerate regular reports for leadership on compliance metricsCollaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure accurate and contract complianceRequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or relatedfield (or equivalent experience)3+ years of experience working in the construction industry3+ years of accounting and/or compliance experienceFamiliarity with certified payroll and subcontractor compliance requirementsProficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) andMicrosoft ExcelExperience with LCP Tracker or similar certified payroll software is a plusStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesBenefitsBenefits & Career Growth: 401(k) with company matching Health, Dental, and Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off (PTO) Retirement plan Opportunities for professional development and career growth Equal Opportunity Employer Statement: Ameritech Contracting is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
