We are seeking a Server Engineer II to join a global Server Operations team supporting 3,500+ servers across on-premises and Azure environments. This is a high-impact role on a lean, stable team - you will make an immediate difference and have the opportunity to grow into project leadership over time.This role offers a Hybrid work schedule (Tue/Wed/Thu onsite in Chicago, Mon/Fri remote), direct exposure to cutting-edge AI infrastructure, and a strong team culture with very low turnover and promoting from within.Responsibilities:Provide Level 2 administration and support for Windows and Linux server environments; troubleshoot tickets related to system outages, server access, authentication, and data separationSupport AI infrastructure including Kubernetes, Docker, Red Hat, and container environmentsSet up, configure, and maintain hardware and operating systems across on-prem and Azure environmentsAdminister Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Certificate ServicesAutomate configuration and deployment tasks using Ansible Tower and Ansible playbooksMonitor performance via SCOM, Zabbix, and SCCM; remediate vulnerabilities and manage patchingManage Azure environments including VMs, Entra AD Connect, RBAC, Backup, and Site RecoveryParticipate in on-call rotation (every 8 weeks) and monthly after-hours maintenance windowsContribute to infrastructure projects; growing into project lead responsibilities over timeExperience:5+ years of IT infrastructure experience in mid-to-large enterprise environments; 3,000+ server environments preferredProficiency with Windows Server (2016+) and Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu); foundational Linux with a strong willingness to learn will be consideredHands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Red Hat in production environmentsAnsible and Ansible Tower experience; ability to read and work with Ansible playbooksVirtualization experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi; Nutanix or Hyper-V a plusStrong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group PolicyMicrosoft Azure IaaS experience (VMs, RBAC, AD Connect, Backup/DR)PowerShell scripting proficiency; familiarity with SCOM, Zabbix, and SCCMSolid understanding of vulnerability remediation, patching, and compliance practicesStrong communicator; polished, professional, and collaborative team playerWillingness to learn, adapt, and listen - comfortable with high-demand environments and after-hours responsibilitiesBachelor’s degree preferred but not required - practical experience is weighted equallyCompensation:Total Compensation BOE: $130,000 to $144,000 SalaryBenefits:Health Insurance including medical, dental, and vision401(k) Retirement Plan with company matchFlexible Time OffMMD Services Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
