Construction Estimator

Mezzmaster is seeking an entry-level or senior Construction Estimator / Drafter to join our team. We design and deliver custom material handling solutions, including industrial mezzanines, equipment platforms, modular offices, stairs, ladders, and handrails, with fabrication handled by our partner facility, AJ Kane Inc.In this role, you will learn our industry from the ground up. You will be responsible for reviewing incoming project scopes, estimating material and labor costs, and generating the preliminary CAD drawings required for our customer quotes.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong foundational CAD skills and a mechanical mindset to grow into a lucrative construction career. To find the right candidate, this position is open to a hybrid or remote working arrangement.Key ResponsibilitiesPreliminary CAD Drafting: Create accurate presentation and layout drawings in CAD to accompany quotes, mapping out column placement, clearances, and structural layouts based on field notes or customer sketches.Take-Offs & Cost Estimation: Learn to review customer RFQs and blueprints to calculate material, labor, and fabrication costs for custom steel structures.Quoting & Proposal Generation: Prepare detailed, accurate price quotes and written proposals for our sales team.Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, sales representatives, and the fabrication shop floor to ensure accurate project scoping.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience: Entry-level to 10 years of experience. We are willing to train the right candidate who has the right baseline technical skills.Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with CAD software is required (schooling, certifications, or personal portfolios are acceptable). Must be comfortable generating clean 2D layout drawings.Blueprint Reading: Basic understanding of how to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, or structural drawings.Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or trade school certificate in CAD Design, Drafting, or Construction Technology is a major plus.Remote Capability: Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to stay on task while working independently in a hybrid or remote environment.
