Intern - Facilities Administrator
Job SummaryThe Intern - Facilities Administrator will support the Facilities team in the day-to-day operations of building systems and infrastructure. This role provides hands-on exposure in facilities management, work order systems (CMMS), preventative maintenance, vendor coordination, and capital project support within a fast-paced environment.This internship is ideal for students interested in facilities operations, maintenance management, or project coordination.Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesTrack and manage facility work orders, maintenance requests, and service tickets using CMMS or similar systemsSupport preventative maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systemsMaintain and update facility documentation, including SOPs, equipment records, and maintenance logsCoordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers for scheduled maintenance and repairsAssist with capital project tracking, including schedules, documentation, and budget updatesSupport safety inspections, compliance documentation, and facility auditsParticipate in facility walkthroughs and site inspections to identify maintenance and operational needsTrack inventory of facility supplies, spare parts, and equipmentPrepare reports, dashboards, and presentations related to facility operations and projectsProvide general administrative and operational support to the Facilities teamEducation & ExperiencePursuing or completed an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related fieldExposure to CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or project tracking tools preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsOpen to currently enrolled college studentsSkills & Other RequirementsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tracking/reporting toolsStrong organizational and time management skillsAttention to detail and accuracyEffective written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and in a team environmentAdaptability and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced settingAdditional Information* Internship Duration: 10-14 weeksAt Coherent, interns are valued contributors from day one.
