Also, a post-hire, clinical-site specific background check and 11 panel drug screen may be required so faculty members can assist our students at clinical sites.POSITION: Practical Nursing InstructorREPORTS TO: Dean of Allied HealthSALARY: Low to Mid $70's annually, depending on education and experienceEFFECTIVE: This position is available nowRESPONSIBILITIES:Under general supervision of the Dean of Allied Health (and "dotted-line" supervision of the Practical Nursing Program Director), is responsible for the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the Practical Nursing certificate program. This person will also assist with programmatic accreditation needs, student advisement and registration, orientation activities and annual graduation events.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or universityCurrent active Georgia Nursing License (RN) in good standing with Georgia Board of NursingRegistered nurse (RN) with three (3) years of nursing experience in the preceding seven (7) yearsDemonstrated professional competence through such activities as continuing education programs, nursing practice, and/or academic study coursesCurrent BLS certification through the American Heart AssociationExperience in teaching adults and supervising nursing students.COMPETENCIES:Knowledge of course standards and skill/expertise in subject areaAbility to teach at any college campus as needed as well as clinical locationsAbility to instruct in a clinical component, online, laboratory, classroom, or simulation setting depending on the course requirementsAbility to work flexible schedule, including day and evening hoursAbility to understand, accept and follow directionsSkill in the operation of work-related computersAppropriate oral and written communication skills that effectively communicate information to students who might function at the new, beginning, or advanced levelAbility to maintain accurate records and prepare lesson materialsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPointEffective decision making and problem-solving skillsFlexibility to adjust work hours based on the needs of the college, 40 hours weekly.Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fair and unbiased manner, and to maintain a pleasant, professional relationship with students and faculty/staffPHYSICAL COMPONENTS:Lift or move objects up to 20 pounds daily. Lift or move objects up to 50 pounds (with assistance) occasionally in lab or clinical. Work is performed in an office, lab, and clinical environment with sitting, standing, walking for long periods in various settings.
