The Commerce Inn is a neighborhood tavern inspired by the history and architecture of old New York and the West Village, located at the picturesque corner of Commerce and Barrow. The Commerce Inn is the most recent project from chefs Jody Williams and Rita Sodi. We are seeking individuals who are interested in working in a unique, neighborhood setting, that value locally sourced ingredients, breweries & wineries. General Description Back waiters are essential customer facing positions that are the front line in representing the restaurant. They communicate clearly and effectively, taking into consideration customer needs and they help maintain cleanliness and the presentation of the restaurant.Role Duties & Responsibilities Maintains cleanliness and tidiness in the dining room and general restaurant Cleans and maintains the back waiting station, and any other areas as assigned Runs dishes from the kitchen and arrives at tables in a fast, efficient manner Runs the correct item to the correct order number in the dining room or at the bar Communicates with management, the kitchen, and coworkers on the floor Accomplishes daily side work tasks as assigned Keeps the back waiting station Department of Health-compliant during all operational hours, and is ready to move into Department of Health protocols when inspector arrives Ensure to-go packaging is stocked for service Completes other duties as assigned by Management Essential Functions & Physical Demands Able to lift 50+ lbs Fluent in both written and spoken English Polished and professional personal presentation, inclusive of proper hygiene and grooming requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business Ability to walk, stand, and bend continuously for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in a fast-paced environment Work Experience & Education Requirements 2+ years’ experience as a runner, back waiter, or busser in a similar caliber concept High School Diploma or GED preferred  The Commerce Inn is a community of passionate and enthusiastic individuals committed to creating great work experiences in the pursuit of eating and drinking well.
