As we expand our U.S. presence, we are building a dedicated finance and operations hub in Boston.About the RoleWe are seeking a U.S. Financial Controller with full operational ownership of the accounting and financial operations of our U.S. Entity. This is a critical leadership role for someone who has previously been the end-to-end finance/accounting owner of a U.S. entity and understands how to build structure while operating in a lean environment.The ideal candidate has a strong foundation from a well-established company (e.g., Big 4 or large multinational), and has subsequently taken on a broader, full-scope leadership role in a smaller or high-growth company where they owned the entire accounting function.This role reports to senior leadership and partners closely with global finance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesFull Ownership of U.S. Finance & AccountingLead and own all accounting operations for the U.S. entity, including GL, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end/year-end closeEnsure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAPTake full responsibility for balance sheet integrity and reconciliationsServe as the accountable finance lead for the U.S. businessManage and develop a professional accounting team, providing strategic guidance and ensuring operational excellence across the U.S. finance functionInternal Controls & AuditDesign, implement, and continuously improve internal control processesServe as the primary contact for external auditorsEnsure compliance with U.S. regulatory and statutory requirementsProcess Building & Financial InfrastructureEstablish scalable accounting processes and policies from the ground upImprove systems, reporting automation, and financial visibilityEvaluate and optimize financial systems to support business growthCross-Border CoordinationPartner with global finance teams on consolidation and intercompany transactionsCoordinate complex financial operations and cross-border settlements with major partners and vendors across AsiaSupport transfer pricing and tax compliance with external advisorsTreasury & Business PartnershipOversee U.S. cash management and forecastingDirect financial analysis and implementation for strategic initiatives, entity structuring, and key business projectsProvide financial insights to support business decision-makingRequirements8–12+ years of progressive accounting experienceA bachelor’s degree or above in a related field is requiredCPA requiredStrong U.S. GAAP expertisePrior experience as a full-scope accounting/finance lead (e.g., Controller, Accounting Manager with full ownership, or similar)Experience independently managing month-end close and financial reportingExperience in multi-entity and cross-border environmentsProven ability to exercise both strategic oversight and decisive operational leadership within a lean teamHighly Preferred BackgroundCareer path that includes:Early training at a Big 4 or large multinational companyFollowed by a leadership role in a smaller or high-growth company with full accounting ownershipExperience building finance processes from early-stage or scaling environmentsMandarin Chinese proficiency (strongly preferred)Experience working effectively with teams in Chinese cultural environmentsPersonal ProfileBuilder mindset with strong ownership mentalityComfortable operating with ambiguityDetail-oriented but business-mindedStrong communication skills across culturesBenefitsHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with employer matchLife and disability insuranceGenerous PTO and company holidays
