Remote Substation Engineer- Project Engineer

SUBSTATION ENGINEER/ PROJECT ENGINEERA growing contractor in the power delivery space is seeking an experienced, self-starting team member with a strong project leadership background to perform engineering design activities for electrical substations.Responsibilities• Performing and directing detailed design of medium to extra high voltage substations and transmission lines, including:o One-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagramso SCADA and communication systemso Station layouts, grounding, and structural detailso Cable and conduit designo Foundation and control enclosure planso Lightning and yard lighting planso Bills of materials, sag calculations, and inter-discipline coordinationo Substation equipment selection and specificationo Construction support, facility studies, and site visitsPerforming QA/QC on deliverablesManaging project schedules, budgets, and overall qualitySupporting project managers with reporting, proposals, and client needsMentoring and developing junior engineersFollowing client standards and completing technically challenging designsTraveling as required (approximately 15%)Education & ExperienceBSEE or BSEET (or equivalent technical education)5-10+ years of experience in substation designExpertise in 15kV–345kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsProficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, Autodesk, Bentley, Revit, etc.)Experience serving as a project engineer/lead across multiple concurrent T&D projectsStrong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word)Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing prioritiesStrong communication, leadership, and mentoring skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
