Fire Lieutenant

Firefighter Incumbent supervises and coordinates daily activities of firefighters and participates in activities including firefighting, emergency response, hazardous materials response, technical rescue and emergency medical services. Minimum Requirements:Knowledge of firefighting prevention practices and procedures Knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations of the State of CT fire codes Basic knowledge of inspection techniques Ability to safely use all fire department tools and equipment Qualified on all apparatus Basic supervisory skills Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Basic word processing and spreadsheet skills High school diploma or equivalent Three (3) years' experience with the MTFD or a career fire department Two (2) years' dual-rate Lieutenant experience with the MTFD or two (2) years' Lieutenant or equivalent experience in a municipal or industrial fire department Connecticut Licenses and Certifications CDL or Q Driver's License, or other state's equivalent EMT-B Fire Service Instructor 1 Fire Officer 1 HazMat Technician Incident Command 100, 200, 700, 800 Incident Safety Officer Additional Requirements:Must acquire medical control for level of certification with sponsor hospital within thirty (30) days of employment Must maintain medical control for level of certification with sponsor hospital Facial hair must not interfere with a respirator mask The Mohegan Tribal Government is committed to Native American Preference and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
