Jupiter Medical Center is the only hospital in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).EducationHigh School Graduate or EquivalentExperience / QualificationsAt least 1 year experience requiredBasic Rhythm Strip interpretation exam with a passing score of 80% or higher.American Heart Association BLS Certification for Health Care Providers.Position SummaryThe Monitor Technician is a nursing team member who interprets cardiac monitor, working under the direction of the Registered Nurse.Provides continuous cardiac monitoring observation and documentation of cardiac rhythm on a routine basis. The Monitor Tech communicates changes in the cardiac rhythm to the charge nurse and primary nurse.Performs other duties as assigned.Team Member CompetenciesEstablishing RelationshipsBuilds effective networks, working relationships, and alliances to collaborate effectively within departments and organization. The team member will need to frequently assist in lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, make sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift to 50lbs. Threshold RequirementsThese threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basisAnnual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientationTB/PPD Surveillance ProgramMaintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
