We design real buildings — and we build the software systems that make great architecture scalable.The RoleThe Project Architect is primarily responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of Cedar projects. The Project Architect will manage the schedule, staffing and execution of two to three projects, concurrently, in different stages of design and construction. They will be a key contributor to delivering exceptional outcomes for Cedar’s customers by streamlining the design and preconstruction process.The title will include “Architect” if applicant is a licensed architect in the state of Texas, and “Coordinator” if not licensed.Cedar’s architectural team thrives in an intentionally hybrid work environment. We typically come together in the office four days a week to collaborate, spark ideas, and build strong connections, while also enjoying the flexibility of working from home one day each week to focus and recharge.This role reports to the Studio Director.What You'll DoManage the day-to-day execution of two to three residential projects concurrentlyPerform Zoning and Building Code analysisProduce and oversee project models, presentations, and documentation through key milestonesCurate specifications, product selections, and detailsContribute to small project teams (2-3 designers) from early planning through construction administrationPlan and maintain project schedules and staffingServe as primary client contact and coordinator for schedules, milestone, and deliveryWho You AreEstablished in architectural judgment, grounded in strong technical fundamentalsConfident in managing multiple projects, balancing deliverables, and shifting prioritiesCurious about improving workflows, tools, and systems that streamline design and preconstruction processesA collaborative leader who works effectively across design, engineering, and client teamsMotivated to deliver real housing incomes in growing urban environmentsQualifications6+ years of experience in an architectural office. Licensed professionals are preferred1+ years in a project architect or project coordination role, running the day-to-day of architectural projects2+ years in the residential architecture sector is required.
