CARRIER SALES REP - Logistics
**Commission Eligible Position**POSITION SUMMARYAs a Carrier Sales Representative, you will work with our network of trucking carriers and build new partnerships to move freight efficiently and cost-effectively. You'll monitor market pricing, secure reliable capacity, and coordinate the movement of specialized loads.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESNegotiate rates with carriers to maximize profitSource, secure, and schedule carriers to pick up and deliver freight on timeDispatch drivers and provide accurate load details, directions, and requirementsManage carrier issues, resolve problems, and handle accessorials or discrepanciesMaintain strong working relationships with carriers, customers, and internal teamsProspect new carriers and grow SOAR Transportation's carrier base dailyTrack and document available equipment, preferred lanes, and carrier capabilitiesReview carrier credentials to ensure compliance with company standardsSend rate confirmations and verify receiptCommunicate capacity needs and opportunities to sales and business developmentSupport new team members and contribute to process improvementsEnsure all booked loads are fully covered before end of dayMaintain company, employee and customers confidentialityMaintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective mannerThrough words and actions support SOAR Transportation's mission, vision, and values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with organizational guiding principles.Follow all work rules as written in the company handbook and company policies and procedures or as communicated by the company Human Resources Department.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma required; some college preferred1–2 years in sales, customer service, or carrier sales/brokerage preferredStrong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentExperience with specialized transportation or hazmat (preferred)Proficient with computer systems and quick to learn new toolsDriven, competitive, and committed to continuous improvementEffective multitasker with sound decision-making abilitiesKPI's – these metrics will be fluid as market conditions moveTotal Calls: 80 calls per dayOutbound Call Time: Minimum required daily call hours (2 hours) (tracked and reviewed)Carrier Offers: 20 offers per day -Future target: 30 offers per day as efficiency and pipeline improveBookings: 10 bookings per dayCarriers Added: 20 new carriers per dayBDAT Performance: Maintain a minimum 70% BDAT score (buying freight below DAT benchmarks)
