Job detailsFood Maintenance TechnicianLocation: ComptonIndustry: Food ManufacturingShift: 1st Shift - 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.Schedule Requirements:12-hour shifts on select weekdays (starting at 12:00 a.m.)Saturday work required 1-2 times per monthPay Rate: $28-$29 per hour (DOE) Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong background in food manufacturing to support plant operations in Compton, CA. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, food safety compliance, and uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on mechanical maintenance experience and the ability to troubleshoot across multiple systems in a fast-paced GMP environment.Primary ResponsibilitiesWork closely with Production and Quality teams to maintain continuous operationsSupport Engineering in executing plant-wide projectsTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and control systemsOperate, troubleshoot, and repair Steam, Refrigeration, and Wastewater systemsPerform equipment repairs in a timely and efficient mannerFabricate components, tools, and equipment as neededExecute Preventative Maintenance (PM) work as directed; complete work independently without disrupting productionDirect actions to ensure a safe working environmentOperate and monitor boilersUtilize CMMS for work order entry, completion, requisitions, and inventory trackingUse SAP for purchase requisitions QualificationsEducationMinimum: High School Diploma or GED ExperienceMinimum: 5+ years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experienceRequired: Food manufacturing experience Prior Knowledge & SkillsExperience working in food manufacturing and GMP environmentsFamiliarity with sanitary processing systemsExperience troubleshooting pumps, gearboxes, steam traps, and related mechanical equipmentAbility to troubleshoot electrical systems (motors, drives, PLCs, temperature/flow controls) is a plusFabrication skills (stainless steel and sanitary welding a plus)Boiler experience required; Blue or Black Seal Boiler License is a plusExperience operating forklifts and liftsComfortable working at elevated heightsAbility to lift up to 50 lbsStrong communication skillsWillingness to learn new and existing processing systemsIf you are interested, please apply and I will review your resume for consideration.
