Inventory Specialist - Chelmsford, MA

Inventory Specialist Duration: 6 Months contract possible contract extension Location: 10 Industrial Avenue, Chelmsford, MA 01824 Shift: 6:00 AM -2:30 PM Monday through Friday Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Inventory Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to manage inventory, ensure proper restocking and accounting of items, and operate pharmacy automation systems efficiently. This role requires physical stamina, technical aptitude, and a commitment to accuracy in handling and maintaining pharmaceutical supplies. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor inventories of drugs and supplies. Stock shelves, rotate stock, and ensure proper organization of inventory. Check expiration dates of pharmaceuticals and take appropriate action for outdated items. Order Fulfillment: Fill and stock medications in various automated devices and storage locations. Read computer screens, use scanning equipment, and select specific drugs/products required to fulfill orders accurately by name, strength, and National Drug Code (NDC) number. Pharmacy Automation Operation: Operate and maintain various pharmacy automation systems, including Autofill devices, Baker Cells, Kalish cells, A-frames, repackaging equipment, and electronic scales. Documentation and Reporting: Compile and maintain inventory records, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Identify supply types and recommend re-order points for revolving stock. Qualifications and Requirements: Education: High School (HS) diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Experience: Minimum of four years of relevant experience in inventory or supply management. Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations. Basic typing and PC computer skills. Ability to read, understand, speak, and write in English. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed and push or pull up to 150 pounds using a rolling cart or pallet jack. Capable of standing or sitting for long periods (8-10 hours), stooping, reaching upward, and performing repetitive tasks. Preferred Competencies: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Familiarity with pharmaceutical supplies and automated systems. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
