Job Description 1st Shift AssemblerLocation: Big Rapids, MIShift: 1st ShiftPay: $15.25 per hourJob SummaryAre you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a hands-on manufacturing opportunity? We're seeking a 1st Shift Assembler to join our team in Big Rapids, Michigan. In this role, you'll play a critical part in assembling high-quality products for customer shipment while maintaining safety, quality, and production standards.What You'll Be DoingAs a 1st Shift Assembler, your core responsibilities will include:Assemble Final Products: Build finished products to customer specifications using hand tools, power tools, and an overhead crane to ensure proper fit and function.Manage Materials & Production Orders: Access electronic production systems to review schedules, create pick lists, verify materials, and update order status accurately.Inspect for Quality & Accuracy: Perform inspections on incoming components, work-in-progress assemblies, and completed products, correcting or replacing unacceptable parts as needed.In addition, you will also be expected to perform final quality and visual inspections, prepare and package products for shipment, enter order data and create labels, investigate and document production nonconformance issues, and assist with staging products for shipment or the next production process.What We're Looking ForTo be successful in this role, you should have the following:QualificationsMinimum 8th grade educationOne year of manufacturing experience is helpful but not requiredSkillsTool Usage: Ability to safely and effectively use basic hand, air, cordless, and electric tools to complete assembly tasks.Technical & System Skills: Ability to utilize electronic production and maintenance management systems using tools such as PCs, tablets, keyboards, mice, and RF guns.Attention to Detail: Ability to read and follow basic blueprints, maintain good color perception, and demonstrate strong manual dexterity to ensure quality workmanship.Additional ExpectationsIn addition to the responsibilities above, all employees are expected to:Meet daily production requirementsFollow all safety policies and proactively identify potential hazardsAdhere to company policies, standard work procedures, and Haworth quality standardsFlex work schedules as business needs require, including overtime, weekends, or holidaysMaintain housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S tasksCross-train and perform other job functions as assignedComplete additional duties as needed to support operationsWhy Join Us?This is an excellent opportunity for both short-term and long-term employment.
