College: BRCCDepartment: Academic & Student AffairsSub department: STEM, Transportation & EnergyType of Appointment: Unclassified - Faculty 9 monthSalary:Duties and Responsibilities: TeachingProvide learning experiences in accordance with students' needs and abilitiesCreate a learning environment in which all students are treated equitably and with respect for diversityMake adequate preparation for the instructional process to ensure that course content is presented in a manner suitable for students with varying learning stylesDirect students not on the official class roster to the Office of Enrollment Management to correct enrollment problems, restricting attendance to officiallyMeet all scheduled classes within the appropriate timeframe and provide opportunities for student conferences either online, by phone, or through face‐to‐face interactionsBe punctual with respect to class meetings and provide instruction for the entire class periodNotify academic program manager/department chair of absences and promptly provide course continuity plansUtilize Canvas or other learning management systems as appropriate and requiredUse instructional and technological resources such as the library, Digital Learning and Academic Support Center (DLASC), and computer technology as appropriateProvide classroom instruction in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 and federal harassment policiesAlert the department chair or academic program manager of any instances of academic dishonestyMaintain a minimum of 10 office hours per weekMaintain accurate grade and attendance recordsAssess learning outcomes and utilize results when planning and preparing future coursesAdminister final examinations for students during the scheduled exam periodParticipate in assigning course credit via prior learning assessmentParticipate in the teaching evaluation processII.
