Full Time Teacher (2 year olds!)
We are seeking an experienced childcare teacher to support the social, physical, and intellectual development of children in our facility. This role involves planning, supervising, and implementing lesson plans aligned with the Center’s goals and philosophy. This role 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Foster a loving, secure atmosphere for children by providing nurturing care, understanding, and positive guidance to support building self-esteem.
Create flexible, well-organized classrooms that adapt to the unique needs of each child, blending structured and unstructured activities throughout the day.
Incorporate developmentally appropriate activities alongside opportunities for free play, ensuring a balance that supports exploration and learning.
Arrange classrooms to prioritize safety, comfort, and accessibility for young children.
Establish consistent daily routines to help children feel secure and confident in their environment.
Use art activities to stimulate creativity and connect with themes, books, or classroom events, while encouraging individuality.
Assist children with art projects, display their work at their eye level, and celebrate their efforts.
Engage children daily with enriching and age-appropriate story times to promote language development.
Provide daily care reports for each child using the Brightwheel app to keep parents informed.
Develop and communicate weekly themes to guide activities and involve parents in the learning process.
Coordinate essential care routines such as diapering/potty training, feeding, and naps, respecting individual schedules as much as possible in a group setting.
Skills:
Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Strong ability to interact effectively with children, staff, and parents.
Ability to remain calm, particularly when addressing children's needs and emotions.
Knowledge of techniques for promoting positive behavior and addressing behavioral challenges constructively.
Must be outgoing, flexible, and passionate about working with children. The ability to take direction and collaborate with other staff members is essential.
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required;
Experience working with two year olds children is preferred.
Completion of 15 hours of continuing education per year, along with CPR and First Aid certification, is required (we will help you complete this)
Ability to pass a criminal background check and TB test (we will also reimburse for these costs).
A certification or an associate's degree in early childhood education or a related field is a major plus!
