Surgical Technician - Labor & Delivery (Per Diem, Night Shift)We are seeking experienced Surgical Technicians to support a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit on a per diem basis. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about supporting safe and effective surgical care.Schedule: Night Shift | 6:30 PM - 7:00 AMKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical proceduresAssist the surgical team during obstetric procedures, including cesarean deliveriesHandle and pass surgical instruments accurately and efficientlyEnsure proper sterilization and functionality of all instruments and equipmentAnticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptlyPerform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instrumentsSupport patient care activities under the direction of the RN when not in the ORCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and pharmacyFollow all infection control and safety protocolsAssist with triaging and urgent (STAT) support as neededQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1+ year of recent surgical technician experience (Labor & Delivery strongly preferred)Experience in a hospital setting required (internship/externship experience alone will not be considered)BLS certification (American Heart Association) requiredKnowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentationAbility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience in a high-volume Labor & Delivery environmentSurgical Technologist certification (CST) preferredFamiliarity with EMR systemsBilingual skills are a plusWork Environment & CultureCollaborative, team-oriented environmentStrong emphasis on communication, accountability, and patient-centered careCandidates should be proactive, reliable, and adaptableThis posting is for an existing vacancy.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Long Beach, CA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
