Building Inspector

The Village of West Jefferson is accepting resumes and employment applications for the position of Building Inspector in the Department of Development. The Building Inspector reports directly to the Director of Development and includes but is not limited to commercial and residential, structural, mechanical, electrical and gas line inspections. Responsibilities also include zoning regulations and code enforcement. Qualifications and requirements for this position include compliance with the State of Ohio minimum requirements in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code with a Building Inspector Certification, Residential Building Official Certification and a minimum of one trade related certification through the State of Ohio, Department of Commerce. Considerable prior work experience in building, zoning and planning and a valid Ohio driver license is required.The pay range for this position is $35.99 per hour to $44.84 per hour depending on qualifications and prior public service. With a competitive and generous benefits package.A detailed job description may be obtained at the Department of Development office located at 28 E.
