Data Center Technician Equinix DC15 (Remote Hands)
FDC Servers (AS30058) is a global infrastructure provider — dedicated servers, colocation, VPS, and IP transit across 27 points of presence worldwide with 100 Tbps of installed uplink capacity. We're expanding our on-site support footprint at Equinix DC15 in Ashburn, Virginia, and we're looking for a reliable, hands-on technician to be our eyes and hands inside the facility.Responsibilities:Perform remote hands tasks in our Equinix DC15 cage: racking and stacking servers, structured cabling, and labelingSwap hardware components (drives, RAM, NICs, PSUs) and handle RMA replacements across our Dell, HP, and Supermicro fleetPower-cycle equipment, reseat connections, and assist with first-level hardware diagnostics under remote guidance from our NOC/DevOps teamRun and document cross-connects and intra-cage cabling, including work on Juniper network gearReceive, inventory, and stage inbound shipments (servers, parts, optics)Photograph and report on installs, faults, and cabling for remote verificationRespond to scheduled and on-demand dispatch tickets within agreed SLAsQualifications:Prior hands-on experience in a data center / colocation environment (remote hands, NOC, or field tech)Comfortable racking and servicing mixed-vendor hardware (Dell, HP, and Supermicro servers plus Juniper network gear), including rail kits, PDUs, and cable managementSolid grasp of structured cabling (Cat6, fiber/QSFP28) and the discipline to label and document cleanlyAble to follow written/remote instructions precisely and communicate clearly via ticketing and chatReliable, detail-oriented, and able to badge into the facility on short notice for urgent dispatchesNice to have:Familiarity with Equinix facility access and cross-connect procedures (ideally the Ashburn campus)Basic networking knowledge (switches, optics, IPMI/iDRAC)Existing badge access to Equinix DC15 or the Ashburn campusThis is a part-time / on-call role with fair per-dispatch or hourly compensation and a long-term relationship for the right person.To apply, send a short note about your data center experience and availability to hr@fdcservers.net
