Brief DescriptionPosition: Training SpecialistLocation: San Antonio, TexasWork Environment: OnsiteClearance Required: Public TrustStatus: ContingentThe Training Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) training program. This role develops and maintains the overall training program plan, designs and develops engaging curriculum, and conducts needs assessments to identify and address training gaps. The specialist coordinates delivery of training across multiple platforms (e.g., monthly webinars, CBTs) and monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Develop and deliver the annual Education and Training Plan Design and develop curriculum, including slides, flowcharts, checklists, and computer-based training (CBT) modules Conduct annual reviews of PEBLO CBT materials to ensure alignment with DoD IDES Warrior Care Policy (WCP) Training Standards and Performance Objectives (TSPO) Facilitate monthly sustainment training webinars addressing policy changes and best practices Provide virtual or in-person 1-on-1 training to newly assigned PEBLOs Manage and track training activities across the enterprise, including tracking initial and annual PEBLO training completion Generate reports for AFMEDCOM leadership on training compliance trends Leverage data analysis to identify training gaps and refine instructional materials Coordinate all pre-event, on-site, and post-event activities for the AFMS PEBLO WorkshopRequired Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in management, business, healthcare administration, or relevant healthcare specialties (e.g., health information management, nursing management). Education substitution: An additional four (4) years of direct experience as described in the experience requirement may be substituted for the degree. Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in the military healthcare environment with in-depth knowledge of AFMS organization, mission, and operations gained within the last two (2) years Minimum five (5) years’ experience working directly within the DoD Disability Evaluation System (DES) or as a PEBLO Minimum five (5) years’ experience in the creation, storage, and retrieval of data in DAF and Military Health Service systems Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the DES process and DoD DES guidelines through prior experience creating training materials Must be a U.S. citizen Must successfully complete a Tier 1 (T1) background investigationPreferred Qualifications Experience in instructional design and adult learning methodologies Demonstrated experience facilitating webinars or virtual instructor-led training Supervisory experience in a training or education settingBenefits Health (PPO & HDHP) Insurance, Dental, Vision, STD & LTD, Basic Life Insurance, 401k Company Match, & Voluntary Products.
