Crew Boss

On-call position. We are looking for somebody who will manage smaller jobs and crews of 5-15 people at a time. Your job will be to learn our systems and our company practices. Once properly trained, you will be responsible for the deployment of military grade 19' by 35' tents at remote locations throughout the United States. You must be willing to respond at a moment's notice and leave for days or weeks at a time (primarily we respond to forest fires during the fire months, May-November). There will be a paid training process where we will determine your skills and you will see if you like working in this industry. The job requires a flexible person who doesn't mind sitting around getting paid to do nothing one day and then working 16 hours the next. Disasters are highly dynamic and we need someone who understands this. The work is rewarding and fun as much as it is frustrating and taxing so someone who is level headed is also key. We specialize in the rapid deployment of mobile disaster camps for first responders to work, eat, or sleep in. There are 4-5 managers all working together across California, Idaho, and Arizona to respond to wildfires and other similar disasters. We are looking for someone to join that team. We are family owned and we have a tight nit group of managers and owners because of it. Aside from the logistics of traveling to and from a site with the equipment, setting up tents is relatively simple and this will be your first main responsibility. To set up tents you need about 6-8 people and a trained manager to teach them. Since the beginning of the company's creation we have trained hundreds of people to build these tents and then to tear them back down. We will train you. It is easy once you have done it. We will also train you on how to train people. What we do is truly unique and offers amazing experience for anybody looking for seasonal work or a full time career in the disaster response industry.
