Café Assistant Manager - ElementaryIndependently perform and work cooperatively with the food service manager to collect and account for cash received during food service sales, and to assist in the performance of food service programs.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentFood Handler's CertificatePrevious experience in handling money is desiredAbility to operate a computerized cash register and make change rapidly and accuratelyAbility to keep accurate recordsAbility to work with figures and to make mathematical calculationsAbility to communicate with parents and students regarding the food service programAbility to fill in manager/supervisory duties in the kitchen manager's absenceKnowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rulesCore Job Functions:Display, demonstrate thorough knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines and proceduresCollect and account for prepayment and real-time transactions of student mealsMaintain an appropriate change fund for registersAccurately perform cashiering duties and end-of-day procedures as requestedPrepare, stock & maintain the serving line area and/or assist in food preparation and clean upAccurately identify a reimbursable meal on the serving line; provide monitoring & guidance to customers to be sure selections meet federal guidelines.Safely operate standard and specialized kitchen equipment, including convection/combi ovens, microwave ovens, dishwashers, air fryer ovens, food warmers, coolers, and freezersSet up serving line with appropriate serving equipment, utensils, and safety measuresWash dishes and equipment according to Maricopa County Health Department guidelinesClean work areas and dispose of garbage dailyAssist the manager in verifying and monitoring HACCP procedures, including temperature, sanitizer, and storage logsEnsures product quality by visual inspection & adherence to cooking/serving guidelines provided to maintain customer satisfactionAssist in ordering/inventory tasks – assist in quality assurance of products servedRespond to all internal and external customers, as it relates to the position, in a prompt, efficient, friendly, and patient mannerMaintain courteous relationships with students, staff, parents, and community, treating all with respectPerform manager duties as required in the absence of the manager/supervisorPerforms all related duties as requiredPerforms all duties safely and prudently as directedCore Values:Excellence in all we do.
